    Leave-on cosmetic products: The SCCS recommends
    that the maximum concentration of propylparaben
    and its sodium salt should not exceed 0.14% in
    leave-on cosmetic products. These include products
    such as creams, lotions, and moisturizers that are
    intended to remain on the skin.

    Rinse-off cosmetic products: For rinse-off products,
    such as shampoos, body washes, and cleansers that
    are intended to be washed off after application,
    the SCCS has not set a specific concentration limit for
    propylparaben sodium. However, the SCCS has stated
    that the combined concentration of propylparaben and
    its sodium salt should not exceed 0.19% in rinse-off
    products

    Percentage to use 0.14% -0.19%

    For the longer paraben molecules (propyl- and butyl paraben) the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety recommends to lower the limit to a maximum total concentration of 1.9 g/kg parabens

    Calculations

    EXAMPLE: How to use 100 ml serum with 0.19% propyl paraben sodium.

    CALCULATION: 100 x 0.19÷ 100= 0.19 gm of
    propyl paraben sodium.
